Lanchester Park
Updated 11.06.10 In 2007 as part of the 1st stage of the area strategy it was first identified that the North Solihull Partnership should build housing on some of the park which would then fund significant improvements to the rest of the Park as well as other regeneration activities. The designs for the new housing and park improvements evolved through Extensive public consultation to include addiditional parking and an enhanced traffic calming scheme. For more information about the results of the July 2008 consultation Click here . Following the public consultation a planning application was submitted to Solihull Council which was approved on the 2nd April 2009. For more information about the planning application and associated documents please Click here to go to Planning Services and type in Ref. 2009/51 to view the Proposed Site Layout Plan for the residential scheme and the Landscape Proposals for the park area. Work is likely to start on site in July 2010, residents will be written to that live near the site and notified. The work to improve Lanchester Park with new play areas, a new skate park and a new car park will commence from the 28th June. The work is likely to take approximately 14 weeks to complete which means that all of the work should be completed by early October 2010. The main contractor is McPhillips (Telford) Ltd and the Site Manager is Gerry Byrne and he can be contacted on 01952 670440.
