North Arran Way Resident Implementation Group

The North Arran Way Resident Invlovement Group (RIG) holds meetings once a month for local residents within the North Arran Way Neighbourhood Plan area at St John's Primary School. The residents who form the RIG are encouraged to actively engage with the regeneration process by feeding in ideas, suggestions and proposals into the local neighbourhood plan.

The RIG assist the regeneration project by giving advice on the real and perceived impact that the neighbourhood plan proposals will have on local residents.  The residents also act as a sounding board for any proposals the partnership may put forward.  They are also encouraged to provide ideas for local projects and initiatives.

Once a RIG is established it becomes constituted with local residents voted into the positions chair and vice chair. The NAW RIG is working towards this status. However, NAW have elected a Chairman Malcolm Cullan, and Vice Chairman Ken Simpson.

The RIG is supported by team members from North Solihull Partnership (NSP) who can provide experience and guidance with regard to running such a residents group. NSP are also keen to offer any training they can to the RIG members so that the groups maximum potential is achieved. NSP facilitators also provide a role in giving direct information regarding the regeneration, bringing new ideas and plans to the group's attention and organising any guest speakers.
